About
Megan Wagner Cox was sworn into the Illinois Bar in May 2014 and has practiced law part- and full-time ever since. She has gained a wide variety of skills in various types of law. It was Megan's passion to serve low-income populations and she did internships, held positions, and currently volunteers in various legal aid firms, including Prairie State Legal Services (PSLS) and Administer Justice. She continues to serve with Administer Justice at their Legal Clinic at Oasis Church in Aurora, Illinois and Megan also volunteers with Chicago Volunteer Legal Services (CVLS) and the Chinese American Service League (CASL).
Megan attended the DePaul University College of Law in Chicago*, where she was a board member for the Asian Pacific American Law Student Association (APALSA) and a member of the DePaul Law Review. Prior to law school, Megan earned her Paralegal Certificate from Elgin Community College and attended Judson University in Elgin, Illinois where she double-majored in Secondary Education: Social Studies and History. She has spent years in the classroom as a Teacher working with teenagers and has a passion for helping young people find their voice as they develop into adults.
Megan is a native of Aurora, Illinois - where she currently has her home office. She and her husband are the proud parents of four children. Megan founded WAGNER LAW because she hopes to be an easily accessible attorney to an under-served population of middle-income individuals who are often intimidated by the heavy costs of larger law firms while those same individuals are disqualified from obtaining free legal services through legal aid because of their mid-income level. After years of seeing self-represented litigants be short-changed by the system as they do their best to represent themselves pro se, Megan takes it to heart when potential clients level with her about their goals - both legally speaking and financially speaking. She is conscious of her client's resources and works with each individual case to balance her clients' needs.
Most importantly, Megan wants her clients to know that she sees them and she cares about them and their families. It is Megan's firm personal belief that Jesus is grieved when his people are burdened, and celebrates when his people are treated fairly and justly.
